Hana Don

The unagi don is topped with so many pieces of nicely grilled eel! It's glazed with a sweet-ish sauce too that pairs perfectly with the eel and the rice! Currently, during COVID-19, they're offering 10% off take-out if you pay with cash!

The sashimi here is truly fresh but quite pricey. I got the Yamaimo Seafood Don and Bara Don, each came with a miso soup. Both tasted similar but I enjoyed the Bara Don more since its has more stuff in it. I had take-out and it was packed very nicely but took quite long considering there was no other customers at that time (30 min). Lot of parking since its in the plaza.

The fish was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. Portions were generous and I've never had such thick pieces of unagi! The seafood selection also had more variety than a lot of other places. The takeout presentation was great so if you want something that's more presentable and special for times like these, Hana Don is a great choice!

They're still new so it's hard to say where things will land in the future, there's definitely high points and some areas for improvement.

Overall the preparations are thoughtful and well executed.

I wished they did explain the items a bit or how to use some of the items for first time katsu patrons, as this place does a semi-traditional offering with sesame to grind.

The seafood dons are fresh and good ratio of rice to toppings.

I give them 8/10!

Went tonight and considering they only opened 5 days ago, it was a delicious meal. Lots of effort went into the details and modern design of the restaurant and it looked great!! The menu itself was a bit too long, but definitely had a great and thought out selection. The uni sushi I ordered was good, but compared to most restaurants, it could’ve used more uni. Aside from that, Food quality and plating was on point and the branding on the tamago was a very nice touch. Best of all, they serve Hitachino Nest beer - if you’ve never had it, try it!
