La Maison Montessori House

Idon't know why I waited to write this review for so long, but after reflecting on the 2019-2020 school year I felt that that I could give what I believe is an accurate reflection of the short term and long term successes of my children's experience at LMMH. We enrolled our children mid school year (Jan 2019) after quite a bit of discussion between my husband and myself and an open house visit. After reviewing curriculum and Montessori ideas with the owner and teachers and originally planning to enroll only my daughter (grade 4), we also enrolled my son (grade 7). Our goals were for them to not only improve their academics but also to experience student expectations and responsibilities from a different view point. So we dug deep into our wallets and calender's and came up with a strategy to make this experience possible. After 6 months we made the difficult decision to return to the public school system. This decision was based on a variety of reasons, financial, distance of commute(we don't live anywhere close to Newmarket), job change and missing friends. It was however, not based on their experience at the school. They made new friends, improved their focus and improved their academics, just as we had hoped. But, what we also have come to notice is that their self expectations, academic performance, self responsibility at end of the 2019-2020 public school year was also exceptionally better. They were much better students, were recognized for their maturity and kindness, and continued to excel at their academics. So, although we would have liked for them to continue, our short time at LMMH was so worth the time, money and effort! Thank you to all the staff.

Such an amazing school. We've been taking our kids for a few years now and couldn't be happier. All the teachers and staff are extremely friendly and fun. Any concerns or questions are answered promptly. We really feel like our kids are very well cared for and looked after. The class atmosphere is so safe and friendly.

The staff at LMMH is second to none! The administrative staff worked with me as a parent to support me and make me feel at ease. In fact, the principal hugs all the children with open arms every morning! Now that’s amazing! There is no doubt that my child has and will continue to thrive in this environment.

We have been so thrilled with the education our daughter has been receiving. The small class sizes and constant encouragement have allowed her to excel to her highest potential.
