Piano Lessons with Maya

My 8 year old daughter has taken piano lessens with Ms. Maya for 4 years. She likes Ms. Maya very much, and made tremendous progress from being a complete beginner to performing RCM level 7 songs confidently. With a lot of experience, Ms. Maya knows how to individualize her approach for each student. She is kind but firm, patient but has expectations! Ms.Maya uses the lesson time very well. Her lessons include a wide diversity of skill development through the usual collection of level appropriate performance and practice books and She helps my daughter to explore different music styles, including classical, jazz and popular. Maya is a methodical teacher. Her own musical training enables her to always identify the next challanging step for the students, then help them get there. In her teaching she blends just the right amount of firm demands with kind encouragement, depending on the student's goals and abilities, to maximize commitment and progress. Definitely recommended!
