Location, location, location
I am going to share my opinion of what's the best, what needs a bit of work and what is a challenge from The Covered Bridge park.
The best:
Location: it's on the banks of Round Lake.
Plenty of nature left untouched.
Peaceful environment in spite of the amenities offered. (The children's playground, volleyball court are far away).
Clear set of written rules to follow given at arrival.
Community building: Events held in the Recreation Centre through the summer.
Green programs like mandatory composting and recycling. At arrival we receive free of charge clear bags to comply with Killalloe recycling program.
Sky lights in the bathrooms to use natural light.
Free Wifi.
A bit of work:
The cost of delivered firewood seems a bit pricey. However, it's NOT mandatory to purchase firewood from the park.
A challenge:
I think that the upkeep of the washroom could be improved. I noticed that the paper towels had not been restocked for longer than a day.
On the other hand, there's a sign with phone numbers to call if the washroom needs care, and afterall is a camping park.
I did say it's my opinion.
Overall, I enjoy my stay in this camp. The views, the peaceful setting, the closeness to untouched nature far outweigh any tiny imperfections.
absolutely loved our one week stay at the Log Cabin. Our kids (11 & 7) and us, thoroughly enjoyed every single detail. daily swims, nightly fires, canoe trips along the river teaming with life, and a gorgeous beach. we were spoiled! thank you to Andrew and his family for taking such great care of us. we look forward to visiting again next summer.
What an adventure! The bridge your cross to get into the campground is spectacular, the beach is clean, the walking trails are perfect, the campsites are spacious, the people we met were friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to experience! Thank you Sadecki family, we will see you again!
They accepted us coming in at 9:30 pm for a place to sleep. We were so happy they gave is a last minute site. Their beach is beautiful, a nice boat Dock, their sites are soft and grassy with lots of trees. Raspberries were plentiful along the edges. The comfort station was well kept and the locals/seasonal dwellers are also extremely friendly.
They also have a variety of sites.
So thankful for the owners. They have a beautiful park.
I hope to be back for a longer stay next year.
We stayed in the log cabin and it was perfect for the two of us. Very cute and cozy. The memory foam mattress was wonderful and we loved the sleeping loft. The campground is immaculately kept with an excellent boat launch and docks. Andrew, the owner, was great and couldn't be nicer. The river is a real treasure with access to two beautiful lakes.
