Nancy Island Lighthouse

Hidden gem. I definitely recommend!

A calm & quiet place in Wasaga beach, with great view over the river and the town. Highly recommend you to come here if you ever come to Wasaga beach. It’s a little challenging to get on top of the tower, because of tight stairs, but once you get to the top you will be welcomed with a great view.

Situated on a small island and named after HMS Nancy, with a quaint lighthouse. It’s beautiful and part of the Canadian history. The view from the top of lighthouse is amazing. It has a museum dedicated to the war of 1812.

What and unbelievable place such interesting facts I did not have any knowledge of why it was called Nancy Island.....because of the large boat that went into war and sunk but in a well ventilated area the have the remains of the boat. So amazing so very interesting...my in-laws my sister in law and her husband,my boyfriend and his parents we where all so amazed by all the interesting facts. I would advise anyone even school trips would not be disappointed....

Loved the history and the knowledge of the staff. Cant believe this history is not included in our schools. Had a problem with our GPS, it kept trying to send us somewhere else but we finally found it. There really should be a bigger sign out front as it is across from the main beach/ shopping area so easy to miss with the traffic. We found out later that the owners sister of our cottage that we rented painted many of the murals at the theatre. We had to pay to park here but admittance is by donation so bring some cash.
