Great Owners and staff. They helped us fix our landing gear on our trailer at no charge!!! Even supplied us with new bolts. The campgrounds was well maintained and everyone was friendly. They provided a list of things to do within the community for my kids and we had a great time in Thunder Bay at the KOA!
This is a very clean and friendly KOA campsite. We rented one of the patio sites and have never had a nicer site anywhere. However I could not give this campground full marks as the patio site which is the most expensive did not have sewer at the location. Also for a campground that focuses so much on family and it’s pools did not have infant change tables in the shower/washrooms. Also the dump station does not allow for black water flush in you RV. A simple change of the hose or a second outlet would allow for this.
This being said I would not hesitate to stay and rent the patio site again at this extremely clean and friendly location.
This place is lovely for folks with younger kids, folks interested in "camping lite", or those with RVs.
The grounds are well tended. The washrooms and showers are clean. The "Kamp Kitchen" has stove burners, a toaster, two wash sinks with running hot and cold water, several picnic tables, and it's sheltered from the weather.
I only gave 4 stars instead of five because of how loud HWY17 sounds from the campground.
If you're looking for deep wilderness, this is not it.
If you're looking for a nice little spot to bring your kiddos or just to spend some time sleeping outside in the Thunder Bay area, this place is recommended.
Also: very close to Thunder Bay proper and all of its amenities.
Has Wi-Fi.
Have fun!
As with the other KOA camp we stayed at the staff were great. Despite us arriving in about 10.30pm (I think it was Kelly ) was there and in the pouring rain escorted us to our spot and waited until I had the electric connected, turning he truck to light it up for us.
The facilities are great, clean and well maintained. The only down side is the distance to the highway you can hear it clearly. overall it is a great spot. Great for an overnight stop.
