My mom and I fostered this lovely 16 year old lady with Mattie's Place, and wound up growing so attached to her that we adopted! When we first started fostering Chispita she had not been spayed, had rotting teeth, and was very standoffish. With the help of Denise and her team she got the medical treatment she needed and has warmed up to us so much that she doesn't want us out of her sight. Working with them has been a lifechanging experience for us, and we are so thankful for what they do.
Denise has been incredibly helpful throughout the whole process, between answering our questions and concerns as well as providing us with everything we need to take care of our new addition. She is very thorough and always makes time for other people, but also gets straight to the point in her communication. You can really tell just how passionate she is about helping animals, and that passion isn't something you see very often.
If you are looking to help animals in need, or are looking for a lifelong friend, we seriously cannot recommend Mattie's Place enough! Both my mom and I are looking forward to fostering with them again in the future.
We adopted Jack doodle from Matties place and Denise was great and blessed us with adopting Jack doodle. He's been a blessing and he's such a happy boy and loving his new home.
I would recommend Mattie's Place to all our dog/cat lovers.
Three weeks ago I was sitting in my front yard with two of my dogs and a homeless man came by with his dog in tears. He said he could no longer care for his dog and left him with me. I knew the dog had some health issues that I could not financially afford, so I reached out to Mattie’s Place and spoke with Denise. I explained the situation and without hesitation she agreed to take Coco.
It turns out Coco needed all of his teeth removed; he also had an enlarged prostate, enlarged heart, and liver disease. Denise and Mattie’s Place did not let this dissuade them from giving this dog a chance. Coco had the best of cafe and got the surgeries he required, but sadly his liver disease is taking a toll on him. I’ve spoken with Denise and we believe the best option now is to not allow him to suffer. This is truly heartbreaking for all people involved, including his current fosters. He is truly such a wonderful dog. I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for all that Mattie’s Place has done without hesitation or concern for cost. They truly do put the animal first.
My partner and I adopted a wonderful dog, Benito, from Matties place. Denise was super thorough and made sure we knew exactly what to expect with the dog we were adopting which made it super easy to prepare for him.
Denise really cares about the dogs she rescues and the families alike. She takes the time and does the work to make sure a perfect pair is matched and no one is set up to fail.
The adoption process was smooth from start to finish and we were fully supported throughout the way to make sure we had everything we needed for Benito.
We could not be more grateful for Mattie’s place for helping us find our best friend. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I have been fostering with Mattie’s Place for more than half a year now and we cannot say enough good things about Denise and her team. We never felt like we were unsupported and we could see how dedicated the team is at matching dogs with best possible fosters and adopters. The process is never rushed and always in the best interest of the dog. We deeply appreciate being part of this cause.
