All the finger food menu items were delicious, especially the Sweet Potato Fries which had just the right amount of crispiness.
Staff was super friendly.
It was a Thursday night which seems to be a regular Jazz multi performer jam. The entertainment as great, although I wasn’t expecting it, and was trying to talk business.
It seemed to draw a warm crowd who clapped in appreciation.
Comfy seating, warm atmosphere was just what we needed on this bitter cold day.
Went to the bar for a night cap after seeing the movie ‘Little Women’ last Sunday. Could not have chosen a more perfect place to wind down. The setting is charming and the ambience is cozy. Our server, Laura, was an absolute delight!!! The wine she recommended was lovely and the pesto pizza was delicious😋. Looking forward to my next visit.
I arrived at 7 PM for a 7:30 performance, and got one of the last tables available. But others freed up fairly regularly throughout the night. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious. I ordered the charcuterie board and enjoyed the variety of cheeses and vegetables.
The venue is perfect. It’s antique and homey without feeling cheap or cramped. Its designed to be comfortable; made for sitting, and eating slowly, and enjoying good music. There’s no rush to leave once you’re done your food, and no matter where you sit, you are close to the band and feel connected.
The whole vibe is different from other jazz bars I’ve frequented - it’s familiar and yet respectful. People listen carefully and talk quietly. There’s an air of happiness and enjoyment.
I have lived around the corner for decades and often thought of visiting. Now that I know the hidden quality that exists here, I will definitely be back!
Very nice place for jazz. Clean, beautiful, cozy. Arrive in advance and make sure you ask a waitress to sit you. Some people might try to say that they are in a bigger group because they don't want anyone else to sit at "their" table. It happened to us, so we were thankful for our waitress. There was a table with 7 seats and 4 people. The waitress sat us on two of those seats. Those 4 people didn't want to let us seat and told us to leave because they are waiting for other two people. The waitress had to talk to them 3 times. Two of them got upset and left. Good for them. The other 2 stayed and guess what, their other friend, the third in their group never arrived.
Beautiful location, beautiful music and great food for a decent price. My only complaint is - the pizzas were all vegetarian.. or close. We tried the only meat choice "Bacon and Onions" and I could barely find Bacon on the pizza. Would have been 5 star if they had a pepperoni pizza. Add all the artsy upscale toppings you like, but don't forget the meat. ;)
