Evan is a skilled guitar teacher, able to adapt his content and style to suit individual students. His own repertoire and musical tastes are vast, which allows him to build his lesson plans around the songs our son loves and responds to. We like his focus on ear training, rhythm and the discipline of a clear practice plan. Our teenager loves his easy style, encouragement and the back stories of his favourite bands. I am really enjoying and getting a lot out of my lessons with Evan. I had some music background with other instruments, but the guitar was new to me when I started. Evan has expertise in theory, harmony, ear training, and different styles of playing. His background allows him to customize the lessons just for me. We start with what I already know, and then he bridges the gaps, so that I can start playing material that interests me while I am developing new skills. He is happy to go as slowly or a quickly as I want, which is really helpful with my busy schedule.
