As an Islander going with someone from away, this was enjoyable for all. I enjoyed the Island history so much, and my companion had a wonderful time seeing and hearing all about PEI’s ties to England, as well as the early history of the Island. Probably not something for younger kids, but I think most adults will enjoy it very much. Between the 30 minute free tour of the house, and the option to wander the gardens, this place is like something out of a storybook, nestled right in the city. Highly recommend.
Couldn’t believe we are actually inside Official Residence of Lieutenant Governor of PEI !!! Upper level currently closed off for public due to COVID protocols. Established in 1800’s, this place is beautifully maintained…
A lovely Neo-Classical style building to visit!
Free admission. Keep in mind that there are no self-guided tours, so you must take the guided tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions.
Open to the public in July and August. Free tours are offered daily. The tours are very informative and interesting. Typically spend about 30-60 minutes here. If you are lucky you may even catch a glimpse of the Lieutenant Governor!
Lovely grounds and staff. We were there to welcome the right honorable Julie Payette during her first official visit to PEI ("but I've been here many times in a previous life", she said. There is a leaky gutter on the north-eastern side so one star off.
