Nice little place but unfortunately did not deliver on the basics. Grilled cheese was lacking cheese element. You mostly taste the bread which was good but should not be the star you pay for. Sorry to say but mac and cheese side dish was highly disappointing. A box you can get at convenience store and cook yourself at home would be a better and cheaper option. Not meant to be insulting with this review but the food experience was below expectations. Mac and cheese needs serious overhaul. Cheese was liquid swimming at the bottom of the cup and the macaroni were rubbery and overcooked.
We were a bit let down by the limited flavor options they had available. We wanted to try the PEI Bacon and Apple Jelly, but when we requested it without the bacon, they refused. It would have been great if they could have been more flexible and accommodating to individual preferences.
We decided to go for the Classic and PEI Tomato and Fresh Basil grilled cheese sandwiches, and they were quite tasty. The tomato and basil one, in particular, had a delightful combination of flavors. We also ordered coleslaw side that was nice.
But, when we looked for salt and pepper on the tables to add a little extra kick, there was none in sight!
Also, there was no whole-wheat bread option available. We had to settle for white bread.
The best grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup you will ever try. BEST customer service in PEI by far. Food came very quick with zero sacrifice to quality. Would rate 10 stars if I could!
Stumbled upon this amazing place when we went to visit the area for ice cream. First of all, the place smells AMAZING. We followed our noses with the scents of butter, cheese, and bbq meats. The servers were extremely friendly and bubbly. I had the 'PEI Bacon and Apple Jam' and my partner ordered the 'PEI Turkey Club' (both HIGHLY recommended). The sandwiches came with sides of potato chips. Try the Raspberry Cordial too - it's the perfect pairing to a crisp, gooey, savory-sweet grilled cheese. My idea of a perfect lunch!
