Susan Christensen Art Gallery

Artist in residence, what's not to love.

I have met Susan several years ago when I was at her gallery enjoying her beautiful work. If you are an Islander, or visiting from away, go to her gallery (it’s an easy drive from anywhere on the island), see her work, and maybe take some home.

I arrived at this gallery just to browse but couldn't help but leaving with two of Susan Christensen's lithographs; I subsequently bought one of her original paintings, which are displayed in the upstairs portion of the gallery. The gallery includes an array of artisans' works downstairs that includes wonderful pottery; a corner of the lower level also includes Christensen's signed and numbered lithographs, any one of which could constitute either a great gift or keepsake of an Island visit, capturing the layers of vivid color and unfettered beauty that make PEI unique. The big reveal is upstairs, where her original work hangs on either side of a hallway, If you're fortunate enough to arrive at the right time, you can encounter the artist herself, gaining insight into her creative process and artistic journey. It's serendipitous good fortune if that's the case.

Very nice art and helpful service. Reasonably priced as well. Although not a large selection
