Boardwalk Motel

We are typically "franchise" hotel people and have had some bad experiences with cleanliness in smaller motels. We read a lot of reviews and it seemed Boardwalk would be a very nice motel so we booked and from the moment we walked in the door we knew we had made the right choice! We wife, who is a little "ocd" when it comes to cleanliness was very impressed! The room was up-to-date and the owner was very friendly and accommodating. Easy walking distance to a lot of activities in Cavendish. It is on a busy road but we didn't hear traffic noise through the night. Multiple BBQ's available on the porch and a microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker in the room--fantastic if you want to prepare your own meals.

Great experience at the Boardwalk motel. The rooms are clean, owner is friendly, has everything you need with a great location. Overall wonderful sleep and experience. We will be back!

DISCLAIMER: Don't be mislead by the low'ish score.....this was one of the ONLY motels that was open before the BIG OPENING in the Cavendish area in early June.

With that out of the way, it's a nice couple of cottages close to almost every whim and need you might need DURING THE PEAK SEASON....it's somewhat of another Matter during the off-season. That said, the cottages are comfortable with each one having their own propane bbq (which appeared to be in good working order).

The owner advised us that the room would be open & the key left on the counter (which it was). It was kind of cool during our visit, and the combination of electric heat and (?) Heat Pump took more than a few minutes to heat up the room.....this would unlikely be an issue during the regular season. It was borderline tolerably cool overnight.

LOTS OF WOOD! If the slight scent of cedar is a problem for you (allergies) this may be a problem.

Beds are comfortable and clean. Nearly a full-compliment of channels on the television (doubtful this would be of issue during the season).

Kitchen supplies are somewhat sparse......if you're expecting a Kurig or Tassimo, you won't find it here (there's nothing wrong with a good old fashioned drip coffee maker).

Bathroom is fine...whoever installed the mirrored medicine cabinet wanted to ensure no one stole it......about 15 long wood screws held it in place! 🤣🤣. Water pressure is pretty low....but you get hot water.

There is NO SHORTAGE of activities in the area during their summer season. In the off-season, expect to travel outside of Cavendish for food/groceries/booze.

The owner did meet us as we were departing.....pleasant fellow.

The beaches are beautiful and they're likely packed during the summer season.....in the off-season, we found a beautiful beach just a couple of miles down the road (Highway 6 Across from Cavendish Beach Cottages).

8☆ Charming Inn ♥️ definitely Not a Motel. I say it should be called Cavendish Hotel! BED is Super Comfy, first night I got in here, I didn't feel well and pass out early and slept through all the noises no problem. Netflix and TV Works great. Nice towels and soft bed sheets and all basic essentials are provided and surprised to see a Huge Fridge. AC is great!!! Cameron the owner is very nice, walked all the way out to greet us as soon as we got to the parking!!! Change our sheets and empty our garbage when we were out, totally not necessary.

It was a terrific motel experience!! The owner Cameron was so helpful, courteous and very knowledgeable about the Cavendish and surrounding areas. He has made a binder which is super helpful for tourists. The room was so clean and I like clean. Not a room with a kitchenette but I knew this and took the proper utensils. The large fridge was a bonus. Barbeque was wonderful part of this Motel and it had a burner too. I just loved the personal touch and loved my stay here. So close to all the fun places. I will be coming back for sure. Sorry for the length of this review but I had to explain how great it is!! An Island Girl 😃
