This inn was built in the 1800s, not I'm not sure what some people expect... but what they can expect based on my experience is a wonderful couple nights stay in a cozy room and smell of wood burning fireplaces. This is an old building thats only 3 floors and very cozy feel to it. There are no tvs, no modern gadgets that would take you away from enjoying this historic building. If you want a coffee maker and a microwave in a room, there is a holiday inn express somewhere on the island. I very much enjoyed the stay at this place, the food is great, the staff is wonderful and the tranquil atmosphere inside and outside is special. Not many places out there you can enjoy a coffee in the main lounge by the fire place in the morning or nice glass of wine at night while enjoying a nice conversation with strangers by the fireplace. Very relaxed place.
Stayed there Thanksgiving weekend. The place is warm and cozy. Our room was on 3rd floor, no TV thankfully!! The dining Room is lovely but pricey. I had the Rack of Lamb and was very disappointed---there were inly 3 lamb ribs with very little meat and far too many potatoes. Not work the cost at over $50. Breakfast was contental but very good...$22.
Although we didn’t stay at this stunning property, it was a pit stop on a day full of activities.
We were unexpectedly surprised by how gorgeous the property and location was.
The house can only be accessed by guests, but our kids were invited in for a tour and Nette’s warm and friendly personality made us wanted to stay even longer! The beers were cold and the espresso martinis were delicious. Would’ve loved to have stayed longer but were really pleased with our experience.
Will definitely consider returning for a stay!
We really lucked out checking this hotel driving by.
It feels like 5 ⭐️, NOT 3 for sure.
Absolutely gorgeous 128 years old hotel with stunning interior including the real fireplace at the lobby that mesmerizes you at the moment you enter the lobby. Despite the age of the building it’s perfectly clean and well looked after. The rooms are rather small, some of them really tiny ( probably, that’s the reason the hotel got 3 stars) but they are super clean and cozy. The view of the lake is magnificent and the ocean with a long sandy beach is just 3 minutes walk away.
We were pleasantly surprised with such a high standard of everything in a remote place like that. It felt like the time has turned back where everything is slower, every detail is important and appreciated. The dining room with a beautiful view has white table cloths, flowers and candles. The background music selection for dinner and breakfast is just perfect and the staff is absolutely wonderful. They also serve breakfast in a bow tie attire 😍
Our initial plan to stay only one night turned into three! We just couldn’t leave this place too soon! This is a real gem!
We would like to extend special thanks to Mary, Nettie and the manager David.
Lovely historic hotel by Dalvay Beach. Beautiful interior decor. Cozy ambiance. Friendly attentive staff. Great drink menu (the pineapple martinis are to die for).
Glad to see a few vegan options on the menu, such as the beet salad without cheese and the ginger sesame power bowl. Staff are knowledgeable about which menu items are vegan or can be modified to be made vegan.
Definitely a bit pricey but you pay for the excellent location, historic ambiance, and first class service!
