(September 26, 2014, 9:18 pm)September 2013 — This was the third year my wife and I stayed at Chez Charlotte for a week-long bicycling vacation. The clean and cozy one-room apartment is just one-half block from the bike path along the canal and the same distance from a daily outdoor farmers' market, a French bakery, a cheese and gourmet food emporium, and a coffee shop. We bicycle 15 to 30 miles round trip each day in both directions along the canal. Lots of interesting places to go by bike. Bikes can be stored in a locked garage next to the apartment. There is an excellent bike store in the neighborhood. Also, lots of bike rental opportunities. Pierre and Andrée are charming hosts (Pierre speaks English) and we plan to return in 2014.
We just returned from our fourth week-long stay at Chez Charlotte in 2014. Improvements have been made to the apartment and the bicycling is as good as ever. We still highly recommend this vacation.
