Cheaper than others, only one that accepts babies. The trio was well organised and we were extremely lucky that day !
Our experience was underwhelming. We saw a couple of whales, but they were far away, and we could just spot their dorsal fins. At the very end of two long hours, we saw a tail for one second. Of course, being wild animals in their habitat, they are unpredictable, and it is not the company's fault if we didn't get a better view. The explanation is in French, but the guide offered a shorter version for the English speakers. The boat is comfortable, covered, and with cushioned seats. However, if the weather is good you don't need that unless you are traveling with older people or younger children. I am sorry to say that, all in all, we felt like the experience was too long, a little boring, and not worth the hefty price.
While we hardly saw any whales that day, it was not for lacking of trying on the part of the ship's captain. The tour guide was very informative, speaking in both English and French. We wish that the guide had broken down her presentation into smaller segments. At times she would speak French for a long time, before translating into English. The sightseeing boats were large and semi comfortable. They should fix the windows so they are easier to open and easier to latch.
Enclosed zodiac provides warmth to and from. Windows can be rolled up upon arriving at the site to watch whales. Guide spoke good English and reasonably alternating between French and English. (Also an awesome spotter).
A bit more drive out to the east from Tadoussac, but I believe it is totally worth it. Don't get discouraged by French only website 😀 (or I couldn't find Eng version).
My friends and I had the most rare and breathtaking experience with Croisières Baleines Neptune on their last day of the season. The Zodiac was very comfortable and had tons of space for everyone. We saw dozens of whales (humpback, minke, some porpoises, and even some cute little seals bobbing around), and a mom and baby humpback whale came right up next to us to say hello! What an amazing day! Thank you so much to Captain Bernie for his unmatched boating skills, and to our wonderful tour guide Marie-Ève Vollant for her passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge. We cannot recommend this cruise enough.
