“This was our 4th time in chalet #7 at Anse-à-Yves but our 6th time in one of the accommodations in Essipit. Everything is very well kept, clean, and every year there are improvements. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the place. The view of the river and the whales is breathtaking! We are just a few minutes from the grocery store, pharmacy, butcher, fishmonger and restaurants. We reserve each year for the following year!”

“extremely friendly staff and a bilingual owner who goes the extra mile to help you. we saw many whales and even had the luck to take some pictures. they send out multiple boats at once so that there are different eyes on the ocean and then the boats all communicate with each other to make sure everyone can orient themselves in the right direction. a wonderful experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend to others! our tour was in french but I believe English options are available. I have included media to illustrate vessel speed and deck size.”

“Magical place. The staff was extremely thoughtful and helpful. We visited in September and saw tons of whales, belugas and seals from both the campsite and kayak tour. The campsite was clean, beautifully located and well equipped (loved the platform). The kayak tour was well organised with a delicious lunch and fire to keep us warm. We booked the full day tour and despite having zero experience it was not too challenging. You won't regret mer et monde. Try to book in advance, availabilities sell out quickly!”

“My in-laws used to own cabins close to here. I found just the thing to replace it. Shipek is well situated and clean. Bird watching while ships float by, and looking for sea glass, whales are a bit harder to find... Surprisingly quiet even though it's close to the road. Will definitely come again. Bring lots of water!”

“While we hardly saw any whales that day, it was not for lacking of trying on the part of the ship's captain. The tour guide was very informative, speaking in both English and French. We wish that the guide had broken down her presentation into smaller segments. At times she would speak French for a long time, before translating into English. The sightseeing boats were large and semi comfortable. They should fix the windows so they are easier to open and easier to latch.”

“We had an amazing time. Our guide was quick to spot and point out whales. We saw Humpbacks, Minke, Porpoises and gray seals. We couldn’t believe how many we got to see and we couldn’t be happier. We don’t speak French, although we would love to learn, but our guide made sure to share all the information in French first and then in English too. Wish I had a better camera, because pictures don’t do what we saw justice. We were in awe.”

“Very professional and experienced company. Two hours of whale watching. We were lucky to have good sunny weather (good idea to use sunblock when sunny). We bought tickets online ahead. Just follow the instructions on their site. We brought a bag with a camera and phones and water - it was not a problem in good weather. It was no need for extra warm clothing, but in cold weather it is a good idea to wear it. No problem with parking. In two hours, we saw three whales, two belugas with babies, dolphins, and a few seals.”
