I can't figure out why this place has such a high rating. The room was clean, but it was tiny. The small deck was pleasant, but the main road is just in the distance and whenever a ferry unloads, all of the cars and trucks are speeding up the hill with their engines roaring. No breakfast (there is a Keurig for coffee). The location is the biggest drawback. The town has very limited parking and we wished we stayed somewhere within walking distance, which this is not.
Great spot! It's located in a quiet residential area near the town across the road leading to the ferry. The room and private bath we had was small but spotless and nicely appointed. We had an excellent sleep in a very comfortable queen bed. The view from the room was beautiful. Jeffrey took care of everything from start to finish. He will reply to your text message, questions, or requests in minutes if not seconds. He is perfectly fluent in French and English and possibly more for all I know. Would definitely return. Merci beaucoup Jeffrey.
My partner and I stayed two nights in June 2022 at La Maison Harvey Lessard, and we had a wonderful time. We were late arriving, so we phoned the host to let her know, and she could not have been more gracious and accommodating. She left our room key in an accessible spot for us and said we could call her if we needed anything. She was also patient with my non-fluent French! The house is at the top of a steep hill, and I wouldn't relish driving up to it in icy weather, but it's close to the highway and otherwise easy to get to.
The room was comfortable and clean, and there was free parking on the street in front of the house. No air conditioning, but they supply a fan, and leaving the patio door open in the evening cooled it down. In the front vestibule, there is a charming little kitchenette with a toaster, kettle, fridge, microwave, plates and cutlery, tea and coffee.
But the most spectacular things about La Maison Harvey Lessard are the outdoor space and the view. Each ground-floor room opened onto its own lovely little backyard patio with a table and two chairs overlooking a beautiful back garden and, beyond that, a view of the Rivière Saguenay and the ferry to Baie Ste-Catherine. What a stunning location, and the hosts have set up the rooms to take full advantage of it. Watching the sun set over wildflowers and a ferry crossing the fjord is an experience I'll never forget. Many thanks!
We loved our stay at Maison Harvey Lessard. The property is located a few minutes drive from the center of the town (or a ten minute walk down the hill), giving visitors a quiet get-away feeling. Sitting on an adjacent mountain, the view out of our window was breathtaking, simply stunning. Rooms are cozy, have a mini-fridge and have a little mini patio with a table and two chairs where guests can enjoy the view. The house is very clean and it has a mini kitchen common area that is regularly cleaned and filled up. The hosts are not offering breakfast at this time, but they do provide dishes, a toaster oven, hot water and unlimited coffee. Our host, Jeffrey, was incredible nice and attentive and provided us with tips and information that made our visit truly unforgettable.
