Exceptionally managed park. Campsites are clean and well maintained. Spectacular outhouses, new picnic tables, level tent platforms and clean fire pits.
We spent the day here. The Welcome Centre was very organized and efficient (though not very friendly). The kayaks we rented were in great shape and pretty close to the dock. You are expected to carry them to the water. The lake is clean and surprisingly warm for a swim. We explored several islands which were designated picnic areas some with a pit toilet. Other islands were reserved for camping. The lake is very popular, and unfortunately there is a lot of boat and motorized sport traffic which whiz right by canoeists and kayakers. It is noisy. I would recommend this spot for group campers who are also making their own noise so won’t mind so much!
An amazing day out on the huge, beautiful lake! canoe rental was easy and well priced There are many well maintained stopping points on their own islands which was perfect for stopping, chilling, eating and swimming. Toilets and benchs can be found in some islands some which was a nice surprise. Staff are wonderful and the place is easy to get to from Gatineau / Ottawa, only 1h20 via car. We enjoyed it so much we are going back in 2 weeks for the day and definitely camping later this summer! Thank you!
My first time canoe camping - used to packing up the car and setting up right on a site. This was a nice change. A terrific operation with nice campsites. Privacy. Your own vault. ???? Tried some catch n release fishing and while not great numbers, I did catch a couple, one bass and a fallfish near our island. I can't wait to go back!
