Horizon X Rafting and Kayaking

Incredible experience from start to finish. Could not ask for better hosts, warmer water, or more knowledgeable and accommodating guides. We were a smaller family group which allowed for a more genuine experience all around. Don't think there could be a better outfitter on the Ottawa River. The water is warm at Horizon X.

Great rafting for a family. Small rafts are the best! Thomas, our guide, easily understood each persons 'adventure-level' and customized the ride for us. My son loved the cliff jumping bonus. Incredible adventure day with beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.

Very very very good experience with family adventure. Imagine all the people get wet and everyone slid thru the rapid, even my 7 yrs daughter did it by herself. Still remember the moment with open water swim… Dangerous, exciting, challenging but safe with these two experienced guide!

This trip is not boat sightseeing, dry in and dry out. It’s adventure trip and everything is awesome!

I booked for a team of 7, 3 days before we did the rafting, and it was a completely easy and pleasant experience from start to finish. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the jolly staff and they explained the whole process for us, and told us to relax and enjoy the many facilities at their location. The guides very clearly are passionate about their jobs and very much enjoy what they do. Our guide, Thomas, was very funny and genuine.

Other than the staff, the location has many amenities such as a hot tub, a beautiful patio overlooking the water, a beach volleyball area, etc.

The rafts are sized for up to 7 people + a guide, which are smaller than the bigger companies, however, I truly believe that the smaller rafting experience feels better, as it is more exciting and more turbulent. Also, the size of horizonx allows for very little lining up and waiting for your turn, as compared to the bigger companies that generally might send out as many as 6 rafts at a time. The smaller rafts feel more personal, and you feel like you spend more time actually rafting versus watching others raft.

I highly recommend this location and company, as the views are amazing and the staff is top notch.

Really amazing family day on the river! Thanks so much to Martin and the Horizon X crew. As a small family group with more kids than adults we had a blast and some great experiences like swimming the rapids and sitting in a waterfall. Highly recommended for both English and French adventurers. Close to the capital of Ottawa and well worth the trip for a beautiful Canadian nature experience (and all out fun day!)
