Merci.
We rented a CanAm Maverick from Stadacona last month and went on a day long adventure over the river and through the woods. Amazing that there's anywhere where you could rent such a cool ride for such a low price. The lady we dealt with was super friendly and organized; especially considering they are primarily French speaking and I know very little of the language. Her English was good enough to get us a reservation, a day of driving and back to their shop.
They have a trail that extends for many kilometers from their shop near St. Raymond south to Portneuf. The map provided could be better but getting slightly lost a few times made it more of an adventure. The trail is marked better returning than going but we figured it all out and had a nice lunch in Portneuf. It took about half the time getting back as by afternoon, we had our act together navigation wise.
Be warned, the Maverick is pretty loud and I was fortunate enough to have two sets of earplugs in my backpack. You should strongly consider hearing protection. Also, when you stop, you will find that there are deerflies in the woods this time of year but curiously, we were never bitten/stung. That doesn't necessarily mean that you won't get nailed so...
All in all, a great day of fun and a break from Quebec City's tourist hordes.
