“Great place with a beautiful view of the La Baie port and Saguenay's Fjord. Service AAA. I've selected "Poitrine de poulet au bacon" and the pasta was great, but the chicken should be better seasoned (no flavor). The same for the steak "Contrefilet des corsaires Angus vieilli 12 oz". Very good quality but no flavor. Suggestion: Create an option grilled with onions and garlic, with a little bit of salt. It's better and healthier than use artificial sauces.”

“Brand new microbrewery, will soon have a rooftop patio. Staff is extremely friendly, and the food was amazing (although we only had 2 entrees, but I can imagine the rest of the food is just as good). Recommend! Nice mountain and water views. Good find in a small town.”

“The place is well located, great view of the agora stage from the balcony, very good service and access to the Summum menu. On the other hand, to announce to you to be able to taste several champagnes with the flute when you do not have many. Prosecco, crémant, it's delicious too, but it's not champagne. I was disappointed with the choice. Inside the bar, nightclub atmosphere that does not match the theme of the place, I expected something more classy. In short, I love the concept, but room for improvement in my humble opinion.”

“The restaurant "Le Doyen" is undoubtedly the culinary jewel of Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean. I had the chance to taste the 9-course tasting menu with 5 wine pairings, and I am totally under the spell of this upscale establishment. The first service has already made me melt with its perfectly seasoned salmon tartare and its sweet touch brought by the raspberry. The accompanying Château des Charmes wine was a wise choice. The second course was equally fabulous, the pan-fried veal brains with beet caramel being a subtle and unforgettable marriage of flavors. The Formigo wine complemented this dish perfectly. The third course, a chanterelle mushroom and game bird soup, was rich and velvety without being too heavy. It prepared my taste buds perfectly for the dishes to come. The fourth course alone was an amazing dining experience. The dune pepper lamb with paprika, hand-picked in La Baie, was divinely tender and succulent. The Sangiovese wine was a magnificent choice for this tasty dish. The fifth course was a perfect interlude with the refreshing orange anise granita, preparing my taste buds for what was next. The sixth service was a real treat! The seared bison skirt with mustard seed and aged malt was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Mesdi wine was the perfect choice to complement the complexity of flavors in this dish. The seventh course did not disappoint either, the smoked migneron with the blueberry puree was tasty and delicate. It introduced me to a new way of eating blueberries that went perfectly with Charlevoix cheese. The eighth course was a pure delight: the blueberry pie, accompanied by its verrine of blueberries, was absolutely divine. The Val Ambré aperitif was a perfect choice for this exquisite dessert. The final dessert, a chocolate mousse, was intense and rich, marking the perfect end to my dining experience. I cannot recommend “Le Doyen” restaurant enough. The attentive staff and elegant decor perfectly complement the quality of the dishes that are served. The tasting menu, with the 5 wine pairing, is a unique culinary experience and I am convinced that it is the best restaurant in Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean. Restaurant “Le Doyen” must absolutely be on your must-see list if you are a food lover. Expect $200 per person. David Elliott Claveau”
