Steaks were cooked perfectly. Broiled scallops were extremely good. Very down to earth feel. Will definitely go back the next time we come to Vermont.
We had better than expected meals. Steaks were perfect, the sauces right, the pasta was properly prepared and we had a very good peanut butter pie dessert. Thank goodness we split it three ways because it was a huge portion. It was also nice not to be scalped for a glass of wine. The garlic spinach vigorously lived up to its name so you’ll have to really like garlic to enjoy it. Overall, it’s a good, relaxing choice for dinner.
The Belfry occupies an early 1900s school house originally built to educate the farm children of Montgomery Center. Over 100 years later the Belfry has given this space a second life with one of the top pub's in the Northeast Kingdom. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, you immediately get the sense everyone knows each other. The food is delicious, specializing in elevated pub fare. The blacked chicken pasta's are a go-to entree, for appetizers try the potato skins, the are brilliantly crispy.
