Stuart Islands State Park is on accessible with a small boat. It is the furthest Northwestern part of the continental United States.
Interesting history be sure to visit the residence and read the interesting stories.
This historic lighthouse is absolutely worth the easy/moderate 3.6-mile hike (each way) from Reid or Prevost Harbors. Trail is well-marked, wide, groomed dirt road (with one very steep hill) winding through scenic forest, meadow and farmland with occasional peekaboo ocean views. The schoolhouse about halfway is a must for any visitor to Stuart Island, and is renowned for the unmanned, honor system, treasure chest sales of collectable t-shirts, greeting cards and coloring books featuring local art. Bring a bottle of water, a snack and wear mosquito repellant. The lighthouse keepers home is beautifully restored, including correct period furnishings sure to elicit nostalgia for days past—tours (check schedule online) are offered seasonally by passionate, volunteer docents. The views from the point are spectacular and you may be lucky enough to spot an Orca pod. Another must on a San Juan Island itinerary.
Worth the hike from Reid Harbor
Beautiful lighthouse on the northwest corner of the continental US. If you are in the area, definitely go take a look at the museum and keepers quarters
