“Love this place. Very accessible, lovely island. Many views walking along the island trails and exploring the pocket beaches. The new dock is much larger with more docking space available. Watch out for swirling currents often opposite the direction of the current in the straits when docking. Also, watch out for the raccoons if you are camping on shore at night. They are cute but mischievous!”

“Great loop trail when combined with the mount constitution trail. I'd recommend doing the route clockwise as its a slower ascent and a bit more enjoyable as a result.”

“Wonderful place for those who love to hike as well as enoy the view of beautiful Mountain lake! If you are into fishing, do bring your fishing gears as well. You might catch some fresh wild trouts!”

“The hike is short and easy to get to the beautiful pebble beach. That means it is also busier than most parks on the Island. Great views! (These have to be the best pit toilets I have ever visited!)”

“Amazing spot to contemplate the beauty of the San Juan Island and admire Mt Baker in all its Glory. Very accessible and an absolute to-do while on Orcas Island. I recommend enjoying that view at different times during the day as the light and colors end up showing very differently. Very well maintained and protected.”

“We love Moran and have been camping here for about 10 years. We enjoy the fresh water lake, multiple hiking trails and proximity to many adventures. Taking the ferry boat starts the fun. Children enjoy the wild life that visits our camping site. Some sites are more private than others. There are two main camping areas- North end, which is bigger, a bit busy and noisy but easy walking to the lake and Midway. Smaller, quiter and a bit more private.”

“This is a fun stop for boaters...if it's not windy and stormy. Nice beach. Mooring buoys on both sides of the spit. Camping also. The area has nice walks. We walked to Lopez Village (8 miles round trip) but it was a beautiful walk. Very pastoral and not much traffic to worry about. You pass by a lake that was very inviting to stop at. Beautiful place, but it can be very windy and rolley.”

“When the tide is low you can walk across the sand bank to the island. You need a permit to go on top of the island because it is a shore bird nesting site. You do not need a permit to explore the inter-tidal zone, which goes from shin-deep up to the highest level barnacles cover rocks. A great place for the adventurer, there are lots of creatures to discover in pools and under rocks. My group found sculpin, kelp crab, red rock crab, purple and red shore crab, sea cucumber, midshipmen, sea stars, and algae. The island is a national preserve, so please replace overturned rocks and leaving any creatures you find.”

“Great place for the family. It's a poplular place but I've never seen it over crowded. There are picnic tables (2-3) available. I've seen people swim in the water in May. So it must not be too cold?”

“Beautiful little beach park. A little tough walking on the beach at high tide through all the stones. Plenty of spots to stop and sit and enjoy the view though.”
