It's really nice here gorgeous views the people are extremely nice and helpful it's really clean before and after the tourist season the park rangers are really kind it is a little bit spendy for parking that's the only reason I didn't give it a 5-star review
One of the few public places you can get to the water. Interesting history. Lots of variety in the types of rocks on the spit. Evidence of glacial activity.
This is a fun stop for boaters...if it's not windy and stormy. Nice beach. Mooring buoys on both sides of the spit. Camping also.
The area has nice walks. We walked to Lopez Village (8 miles round trip) but it was a beautiful walk. Very pastoral and not much traffic to worry about. You pass by a lake that was very inviting to stop at. Beautiful place, but it can be very windy and rolley.
Stayed in a group camp and had a lovely weekend. Kayak rentals were fun. Bring your bike to really enjoy the Island. Bathrooms were a bit of a hike from the campsite, but clean and we'll kept
Just recently had a wonderful trip here. The facilities they have are kept clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Camp sites are a good size, and relatively spread out. Lots of wildlife around all the time.
One star off for an intermittent, but fairly awful septic smell that would waft our way from time to time. Bad enough to induce some nausea. Maybe something temporary they are fixing?
Other than that it was great!
