Nice Hike. Decent Lake Whatcom view at the top. Probably not the best hike with kids unless they are experienced at hiking. No water for dogs during the summer, so bring some for the pup. Quite a bit of uphill. They are adding new trails, and there is some construction going on as of 8/18.
It's a very beautiful place ice for hiking and enjoying nature and enjoying the peace and quiet!!
A great dog and kid friendly hike, close to town! The trails are well marked and easy for young hikers, the parking lots is a generous size and there are clean restrooms at the trailhead. The waterfall overlook is an easy 1/2 mile hike from the parking lot and is a nice spot to stop for snack and a rest. With two young kids, this is one of our favourite weekend hikes.
Nice trail, a little over 4 miles round trip. Good and steep most places but enough flat spots to even it out. At the top is a small bench with a little view of Lake Whatcom and a perfectly framed shot of the top of Mt. Baker. The forest is dense though so go early because you lose light quick.
Long hike to the top, the trail is steady up, but not steep. View of the ocean and islands is rewarding.
