Was there during a storm my kitchen got flatten down.. hahah so be mindful of sites by the lake.
I can't say enough good things about Steve and his wife, the managers here. Super welcoming when we arrived, and came over quickly on the morning we were leaving to help with a flat tire with a small pump. Well, the pump wasn't cutting it and we needed to change the tire, and he stepped in and changed the whole thing for us!! In 30 degree heat at 9:30am, with my kids crying about the flies, and the dog chewing through her leash to get to me out front, no less!. Amazing hosts, and will come back not only for the beauty of the sites, but for the managers there. Steve, you're amazing!!!
Really awesome Campground! Close access to both swimming areas, day use areas, and hiking trails! Also has some really beautiful areas to explore!! We stayed in site 11, and it's quite nice! I stayed in a tent for this vacation as well!
Sites are a bit open to each other and the main road into the campground, and the pictures on the Alberta Parks website are a little hard to see! I definitley recommend calling the campsite managers- they're very friendly and will be more than happy to share their recommendations for sites! Their picks are really beautiful (Sites 8, 10, and 12 all have access to the water and are very pretty!) The actual sites are incredibly well-maintained, with gravel pads, and fire pits are cleared often! Bathrooms are also cleaned twice a day, or more frequently as far as I can tell! The water spigot is located right at the entrance to the campground.
If you are tenting, definitley invest in some thicker pegs- the gravel pads, while lovely and dry, are VERY hard to nail the pegs into!
Overall, it's a really awesome Campground! Firewood and ice can be dropped off at sites around 6-7pm (Firewood is $12, ice is $4.) Firewood comes in larger bundles!
Lovely large sites. Great privacy between sites. Quiet and well maintained. Only downside is the gravel road to get into the campground.
Views are stunning. Decent water access and fishing but minimal trails.
