I recently graduated from the Alberta Yoga College's 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and I could not be more satisfied or more grateful to the faculty.
The knowledge of the staff, the very early introduction to practice teaching and the recognition of ancient wisdom with modern science made this an ideal program for me. I am confident to move forward in my new career as a yoga professional, and better yet, I feel supported and encouraged to do so!
Alberta Yoga College did such a phenomenal job of creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Students are encouraged to ask questions and to think outside the box which allowed for some great conversations, innovations and laughter!
This program touched on the physical, spiritual and mental aspects of yoga, and the College really has collected some of the greatest instructors in the city to teach from their experience/expertise.
If you are debating a 200 hour yoga program, to deepen your own practice, or for a possible career change, I encourage you to put AYC at the top of your list. There's an amazing community surrounding the college, and the support seems to be never-ending.
Thank you AYC for the most amazing opportunity. I am forever grateful to be an alumni!
PS - If you're just looking for public classes, and a space that will welcome you with open arms, come check out a class. We always have a blast and leave feeling strong and recharged!
I had a lovely experience completing my yoga teacher training at the AYC and I would encourage anyone interested in pursuing this path to register here. The instructors are always eager to help, extremely generous with their time, and they each offer a unique teaching style to learn from. Rather than learning in the traditional classroom setting, all students are encouraged to speak up and discuss ideas together. There is a wonderful community atmosphere here and former students continue to play an active role in it. This is a community that fosters support. We lift each other up and celebrate our differences. Thank you to the faculty and to my amazing fellow students. I am so grateful for this experience and for becoming a part of this beautiful group. Namaste friends :)
Amazing teacher training program! I learned more than I thought. And it is not only for prospective teachers, but for everyone who want to know more about yoga for personal growth.
I recently graduated the Alberta Yoga College's 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. It was a positive experience for me, I entered the program with a limited knowledge in yoga. I found the program to be very well rounded. Offering a good balance of Asana training, Yoga philosophy, Anatomy and many other modules that gave me a great introduction into the world of yoga. The instructors are very experienced and offer a lot of knowledge in different areas as well as constructive feedback. My personal yoga practice improved immensely and I appreciated the coaching that was offered. The communication before the program began was helpful in preparing me and the director, Rob, was always very quick to respond to my inquiries. I had many questions before signing up and Rob took the time to talk to me and discuss the program before I committed. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is considering it, after 3 months of training I feel confident to move towards a career as a Yoga instructor as I was given the tools to succeed.
My RYT-200 training at AYC was amazing. A 10/10 experience.
