I can’t speak for winter activities but in the summer this is the place to be for downhill biking. There is an extensive network of bike trails from rookie to pro and the bike rental on site rents very good quality bikes.
If you want kilometres upon kilometres of amazing cross country ski trails, you’ve found the place. Home of the 1988 Olympics, they maintain excellent condition trails for both skate and classic x-country skiing.
There’s a warming hut about 3.5km from the day lodge so you can heat up & a couple of picnic tables along the way to stop and relax/rest/snack.
There’s also a rental spot right at the parking lot that provides skis for about $52/day. They also have lessons in the AM. Just a short 5min drive from downtown Canmore! Highly recommend.
I was there to watch biathlon. Unfortunately the stadium was under construction, and the jumbotron points the wrong direction, so fans had limited views.
That being said, the wintersport museum in the Center is not to be missed. The staff was friendly. The scenery was beautiful. I look forward to returning for more IBU events in years to come.
Great place for sledding, country skiing and ice skating. Surrounded with beautiful Rockies scenery. It has cafeteria with lots of indoor tables & chairs. Very clean washrooms. Can’t wait to go back there in the summer to try mountain biking / hiking.
Amazing trail running trails and bike paths. Staff was so helpful. There are resturants, bike shop and more. Beautiful views of the mountains. I ran 9km up and down the single lane trails, very impressed.
