I stayed at Mountain Haven Cabins for two weeks (mid-late October 2023) and enjoyed it very much. The hosts are helpful and responsive, the location affords easy access to Waterton Lakes NP and Payne Lake Provincial Park, the cabin (Fisherman) was nicely decorated and well-appointed, and the views and scenery (prairies to mountains) were great. The single consideration I would suggest to anyone is that the internet can be a bit fickle, both in speed and with minor outages. If that is a concern, then I'd suggest having a phone with a hotspot for backup. On the whole, I can confidently recommend this lodging.
We rented all 3 cabins for a family reunion over the Canada Day long weekend. Can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was here. There were 18 of us and we all fit comfortably. For the kidlets there was a lot of open space, playground equipment and owners even set up a trampoline for them. All 3 cabins were beautifully decorated and provided the comforts of home. Beds were super comfy! We loved the view of the mountains, especially for our morning coffee. Stargazing at night was amazing! We definitely plan on returning for our next reunion!
I've never stayed here but I've done maintenance on the water heaters and fireplaces in all these cabins. They are very well kept units. The owners are first class people genuine and honest. One day I'll book them for a family get together.
Amazing views, but unfriendly staff
Pro: they have a amazing mountain view
They have the proper kitchen equipment to host 7 people.
The cabins are clean.
Cozy and comfortable
Con: Some broken items. Stove control fell off at first touched and we told the manager. She was very angry at us. But we didn't even use it. We touched it and it fell off.
Our party rented 2 cabins, half of the chairs in the cabinets are broken. The moment you sit on it, the legs would split. The staircase railing in one of the cabin was very unstable. Upper floor window might be broken, can't close the window. It was windy and cold at night. There is a information sheet, the notes on the table has inconsistent information. One said, the trampoline is broken due to storm. One said the entire play ground is broken.
The notes also stated that we can't use the fireplace inside the house. But didn't tell us that there is a space heater. We discovered that upon checking out.
Overall, cabin was okay. We would rent it again if it wasn't for our encounters with the staff.
Nice cozy place to hangout after a day out. The morning and evening views are fantastic if mother nature cooperate. The view of the mountains from the dining table is something that does not get old. Same from driving up and down the main town road too. Winter is beautiful.
The cabin itself is warm and the owner has put a nice wilderness touch to it. The loft upstairs is great and quiet. Perfect for a family or 2 couples. Beds are comfortable and kitchen is small but has what is needed for the weekend.
