Edmonton is a fun, outdoors city, weather not withstanding. Lots of festivals, great venues for art & music, & great variety of restaurants. My favorite part is the connected parks in the river valley where you can walk, run, ski, or bike for hours without seeing a car. Lots of great hills for cycling - I have a 10 hill route.
The view of the river valley can't be beat! It's accessible, paved, and has a number of benches. Sometimes it's a bit busy with people from downtown enjoying their lunch outside, but that's probably more of a pro than a con.
No nearby washrooms.
Want to go for a picnic, get you some exercise or just soak in the sun and enjoy the company of others? This place is a great choice. You might get to pet some furry folks too or even make a friend or an acquaintance
Victoria park is big, beautiful and is great year round! In the winter there is a huge ice rink and ice Paths through the trees for skating. This past year I did some snowshoeing through the golf course and realized there is a whole track set up for x country skiing! In the summer you can golf, ride your bike or take a nice walk through the park!
Best city of Edmonton public park. It has nearly everything you could want (golf course and driving range, walking areas, group and single picnic tables, cricket pitch, outdoor skating oval and trail, free parking, quick access to Edmonton's best asset - the river valley) and it's located within minutes of downtown.
