My friend has just shown me this park. I love the set up they have with the hockey rinks and the play structure! The whole family can come down and enjoy a nice winters day. I look forward to what they have in the spring????
Lovely little park
This off-leash park offers a wonderful view of the Elbow valley overlooking Sandy Beach park. The park offers a flat walking path on the escarpment overlooking the river valley. There is a supreme view of the Rocky mountains to the West. The park has covered garbage bins for the dog waste. The park is rarely busy but usually there are a few dogs exercising and greeting. If you require it, there is a fenced off-leash area at the base of one of the two designated paths leading to the river from the escarpment.
Tennis courts, wide open grass field, and hill to climb. Top notch playground for kids of varied age (separate structures for toddlers and older kids), with rubber ground cover which is fantastic for keeping the kids clothes clean and shoes empty of rocks.
Nearby washrooms in the tennis court and church across the street for those kid potty emergencies.
This is a rare off-leash area where the kids can play at a park and the dog can play right close by.
In the winter it's awesome to toboggan and have the dog frolic about in the snow beside you.
There are lots of little paths to explore in the bush on the hillside. It's a great inner city place to take the dog.
The view at the top of the hill is also worth the visit.
