The visitor centre has a lot of interactive areas where one can learn more about the mountains, the animals, birds, plants and all living creatures. There’s a small space with a 4 minute video on the night sky with a voice over on the documentary on how the First Nations read the sky and relate to certain. Stars.
Outside there are more interactive animal sculptures with info.
Overall, it’s a visitor centre that caters very well to both children and adults.
Worth visiting!
Despite the small-town atmosphere of Waterton, the park itself offers so much to explore.
The Visitor Centre is the perfect place to obtain your park access pass, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, patiently explaining the pass fees.
Even though I didn't have time to attend the interpretive programs, I appreciated what they offered here, which allowed visitors to find out more about the park's history and learn more about exploring the beautiful nights.
Wonderful national park. You can still see the results of the 2017 wildfire. Park has plenty to offer for everyone. We saw so many different animals and wild life. There are easy and short hikes, view points, lakes where you can rent SUPs and boats but also long and hard hikes for the more adventurous. Park is way more quiet and relaxed and the more famous brothers north of it.
I took a drive over the border to visit Canada. Border check was easy. The park was absolutely amazing; friendly and easy to get around. There was food, bathrooms and places to park. Make sure you drive around as I saw elk in someone's yard 🤭. I visited Cameron Falls and Cameron Bay. It was quite windy so make sure you dress appropriately.
Very informative & interactive displays. Modern, good parking, friendly staff, small gift area. I enjoyed the interactive displays, especially the one showing how the wildfires started & the time lapse. Amazing the whole town wasn’t destroyed. Kids and adults of all ages would like taking a walk through this place. Parking was good when we went but probably gets busier on the weekends. Toilets are clean. I found it very relaxing.
