One of the few places that is open in winter. Really good price for the area. $ 34,50 for site with electricity. Service is self checkin. Great spot as a base for hikes in Lake Louise area. It was not busy at October. Train is passing by but that is a common thing in many campgrounds… Heated washrooms with hot water and clean bathrooms are available.
Great campsite in a perfect location, close to lake Louise town, lake Louise and lake moraine.
The train is loud at night but we stayed in whistlers campsite and tunnel mountain and they were all the same, the train sounds it's horn when it's approaching a crossing at night.
Close to the river which provided beautiful views and walks into town.
Plenty of trees in the campsite so more private that others we have stayed at. The toilet blocks that were the closest to us were a bit old, but we stopped at the toilet and shower blocks further down and they were newly renovated/ built and much more modern.
Plenty of waste disposal bays, much better than other campsites we have been to, we didn't have to que.
Marvelous camp ground for trailers. They put two units in one wide pull through driveway to save the trees. So even though there is 189 sites you wouldn't think so it is that big, as you cannot see far through all the trees. The spots are very large and the tables are offset so your not beside the other trailer. Lots of privacy as the sites are very long. It is a long campground that runs right along the Bow river with trails along side. Lots of washrooms but only 1 shower facility. We don't mind the walk but some people bristle. Clean, modern with unlimited hot water! There is a dump site on the way out and you're close to the village. Water is very tasty here so load up.
We stayed here three nights. Read an article from some guy about the double sites and got worried. But you are back-to-back and honestly, I've been in many other campgrounds where the "regular" sites are closer together. We never even saw one couple that was next door.
The grounds are clean and the showers are nice--except the ones I used had a few broken rings on the curtain so it was challenging to shower while holding it so my clothes didn't get wet.
Shuttle to Lake Louise Village and the Lake Louise and Moraine shuttle hub is in Site 1. Very convenient! Just know they do not start until 7 a.m. each day. And if you want to go to the lakes via shuttle, you have to get tickets online ahead of time. We saw a lot of people disappointed at the main shuttle parking lot. I also read online they are piloting a Banff shuttle--which will be awesome. So nice to leave the car and just sightsee!
Everyone is complaining about the train. Frankly, I think there is a train by nearly every RV campground I have stayed at. At this point, having a train nearby is comforting. The location is convenient. The sites are back to back, which is better than most campgrounds where they are front to back. I wish it had water at ever site, but that’s a minor thing. The sanitation station was huge and great to use to fill up on water and dump before going to the site. Highly recommend.
