“You are definitely paying for the location when staying at the property. I loved being able to get up before sunrise and walk to Lake Louise each morning. . Issues: my room was “double booked” and I was not notified of this until I was standing at the check in desk. I was given a smaller room with less beds and this was very inconvenient for our group of (4). I was not offered a discount or any thing else for the huge inconvenience. Only an insincere apology. It was 11pm at night and I was exhausted after driving all day, so I had to take what I could get. The hot tub was closed for maintenance and we were never put on notice. The ice machine never worked the whole time we were here. No elevators (however, I am understanding to the fact that it is an old lodge. So this wasn’t a huge issue). I was disappointed that there was no fridge in the room for our lunch items we were storing in a cooler. . The breakfast was good, but the flow is not set up very well and the food ran out quickly with long waits for refills. . Overall: I would stay here again just for the location, but I would come with very low expectations.”

“Had a wonderful stay at the Paradise Lodge & Bungalows. Staff was super friendly and helpful upon our arrival. Grounds were well-kept and the cabins were super cool and cozy after our long days of hiking. Cabins had a kitchen, and the front desk had some nicely prepared meals to put in the oven and they were delicious. Lake Louise doesn't have many restaurants open late so that came in really handy. Highly recommend for anyone staying in Lake Louise!”

“Nice little hut. It's in great shape, has amazing views, and is a great jumping off point to access some incredible terrain on the Wapta. One draw back is the sleeping area and kitchen are one in the same so it's easy to disturb others or be disturbed when on different schedules, but that's hut life! Great destination if you're familiar with safe glacier travel. You'll want to bring the proper gear, and ideally an experienced partner or two to safely access the hut and surrounding area. This hut cannot be accessed via a simple hike. Be sure to make a reservation with the ACC, and to leave the hut as you found it or better!”

“Quiet campground with amazing panoramic views. Paved roads with gravel sites. Some sites can be close together. We stayed in site 13 and liked being back there. You can hear the highway if camped near the front. Pit toilets only, no water on site at all. Must fill up and dump at Waterfowl Lakes (2km away). About 30 min from Lake Louise village which is the nearest gas and food. We preferred this site over the lake Louise campground, which was terrible imo.”

“We have been coming to the Post for over 35 years. Each stay is always more amazing than the last. We just celebrated our 55 anniversary. We so enjoyed this visit. Several outstanding staff to note. Salvina st the front desk along with Richard. And Isabella in the dining room. Finn the other bellmen. Daria at the outpost and Alicia. And housekeeping was wonderful. Thank you and looking forward to the upgrade to some of the furniture in our cabin Thank you again Jim California”

“This youth hostel will put your 4 star hotel to shame. We came with a family of 4 and stayed in a quiet room with a private shower. My kids have really been impressed with this place. My wife came here with her Mom 25 years ago at this exact location and now we are here again. After hiking to Lake Moraine during the day, playing a game of pool with my son at the communal space at night will surely cement our memories here.”

“We had stayed at this Lodge many times over the past 30 years and were excited to return in September after its extensive renovation and remodel. It is absolutely stunning to behold! The footprint remains the same…the iconic roof, the stunning fireplaces! The interior space now houses 17 spacious guest rooms…with elegant furnishings and modern bathrooms! All new windows…no more rattling! Reinforced walls that were quite soundproof. Elegant and comfortable places to sit on the main floor and a beautiful bar. Fantastic staff and truly perhaps the best Chef and Sous Chef and crew in all of the Rockies! Wish we lived closer and could go more often…certainly will add it to our yearly trip from California! Kudos to the ownership, management and staff for creating such a treasure that is so perfectly situated away from the crowds on exquisite Bow Lake! A perfect getaway on the spectacular Icefields Parkway.”

“Fabulous rooms, service and perfect location. Just for the fact that you get access to the lake and are able to spend quiet time early morning and late evening, almost having the location all to yourself makes it absolutely worth it. A 2 night stay is ideal(1 night makes it too short, 3 maybe too long). Easy access to Lake Louise too from here. Included breakfast, to-go/complimentary lunch at the library is such a cool service to have. Special shout out for Elliot (the in-house naturalist) and James (at the reception) for being super friendly and helpful. In general all the staff were fantastic. Food, although limited in selection for vegetarians, was awesome. Especially the desserts!”

“We planned a girl's weekend away for the first weekend in November. All around, the hotel lobby is very nice and clean. The pool was great as well as the hot tubs. Our room was incredibly outdated and hotter than the Sahara Desert. We had a fan going and the heat shut off and it was unbearable. Beds were not comfortable at all, and the pillows were small. Bathroom had no fan running so even hotter when attempting to change after a shower. Paint was cracking on the bottom of the door. They offer complimentary games and snowshoe rentals which were a highlight of the trip and awesome to have that option. The restaurants are overly priced, food menus for both are fairly similar with limited options. The Explorers Lounge had live music on Saturday, which was great, but you couldn't even hear the person next to you talking it was so loud. The also have s'mores & hot chocolate on Saturday in Gazebo which was another nice touch. Hotel was great but the room could use some serious TLC for the price as what we paid just doesn't justify it.”

“Marvelous camp ground for trailers. They put two units in one wide pull through driveway to save the trees. So even though there is 189 sites you wouldn't think so it is that big, as you cannot see far through all the trees. The spots are very large and the tables are offset so your not beside the other trailer. Lots of privacy as the sites are very long. It is a long campground that runs right along the Bow river with trails along side. Lots of washrooms but only 1 shower facility. We don't mind the walk but some people bristle. Clean, modern with unlimited hot water! There is a dump site on the way out and you're close to the village. Water is very tasty here so load up.”

“We’ll definitely be coming back here! Perfect place to stay! Everything about this hotel was great; a lot of parking spots; super helpful and friendly staffs from when checking in, they gave us recommendations on tourist spots and easy hiking trails. Beautiful stylish, spacious kids friendly, clean and cozy room! The complimentary breakfast was very good and had variety of food offered, staff we’re attentive and efficient! The breakfast room was well equipped and comfortable. Great location! Close to lakes, restaurants, stores and many more. Overall excellent stay and highly recommended! 🙂🙂”

“We were a group of four couples that made our way to Shadow Lake Lodge for a two night stay. Alex and staff were very attentive and friendly with wonderful breakfast, packed lunches and dinners. The hikes in area outstanding and it was great to leverage SLL as our base. Cabins terrific and great to be disconnected in paradise for a few days! SLL🙏 On walk to or from Lodge make sure to wish one by the name of Gary on trail our best :)”

“A beautiful hostel located in the rockies! Richard was amazing and takes great care of the grounds and rooms. A clean communal kitchen and amazing sauna. The area is great year round for different activities and hikes. A wonderful hostel experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy nature in a rustic yet comfortable way. I can't wait to return!”

“This place is a little gem! The restaurant blows me away every time, had the elk bison burger 5☆. The next night had the scallops and elk it was amazing, my bf had the pork it was to die for. Love this place. The cabins are cozy with wood burning fireplace so romantic!”

“A typical shelter, has 6 bunks and can accommodate 12 people (2 per bunk). There is a shared dining area with a stove and lots of firewood, great place to dry your gear. I've visited both in the winter and in the summer. If you haven't booked the entire hut, expect rowdy bunk mates. People like to drink and party. Could use some updating or repainting, lots of smoke residue on the ceiling and walls.”

“This location was absolutely amazing to stay at! The rooms we very clean and set up so cute! I loved that the mountain cabin feels went throughout the entire locations. The staff there were very helpful with finding activities to do locally and helping out at the facility. Baker Creek is a great distance away from the hustle of Lake Louise while being close enough to drive there and do activities. if you are unsure of what to do around the area, the staff is very helpful to point you in the right directions. They also have pick-ups and drop-offs from the camp location to make it easier if you don't know the area.”

“Actually, not a bad site! Sure it's a field, but it's really quiet and was mostly adults who wanted to appreciate the mountain views. The underbrush is nice with several types of flowers in bloom and little trees trying to grow back in. We didn't wear bug spray once in 4 days. Compared to Tunnel mountain or Lake Louise campgrounds, there are only 2 sites here in the space they fit 5 at the other places near by. Flush toilets. Small fire pits. Sink for washing dishes and electrical outlets in the bathrooms. Filled up each night July 13-16. Bears on the road a few km away. Easy access to trails in Lake Louise, Yoho, or Icefields parkway. We will camp here again.”

“The cabin was so cozy and Sharon really made our family feel at home and welcome. We had some rainy weather and it really was so great that they offered movies to watch. The office/store had so many options for food/supplies. Also, i am a tea lover and they had a really nice selection.”

“Overall great! Maps took us left off the main road to a construction site, but it’s actually located right off the main road and tucked back a little. Place wast very clean, host was nice, Linens smelled good, kitchen dishes well stocked, common room had a guitar and a couple board games, good Wi-Fi and charging stations. Nice location between the town of Banff and lake Louise. My only complaint would be the mattress, but that’s kinda to be expected at a hostile”

“Location is everything in real estate and campgrounds. We were in the first loop as you enter the campground and the train was obvious, but not annoying. We were also in a hard-sided tear drop trailer and didn’t ever hear it at night. This was our third campground along this stretch of railroad and I can say it is the only one, so far, where the train uses its whistle/horn. Not sure why, but every train that goes by uses it. There must be a crossing or something nearby, but I can’t see it on the satellite imagery. I would image if you are staying further SW in the campground, closer to the track, the train would be much louder and possibly more annoying. The facilities here are decent. No where as nice as Yoho or Mt Revelstoke. But they had hot showers and a decent bathroom. There is a dedicated handicap restroom and shower. Unlike the other campgrounds, this one only has 1 dishwashing sink per bathroom. We arrived full of water, so we didn’t use the water sources here but they seem pretty basic. Maybe there’s a better source then what we saw? Like all the other campgrounds, the staff was very nice and they do interpretive shows regularly.”

“We stayed in cabin 19, a one room bungalow. It was very cozy and charming and as advertised. It was mostly clean with the exception of a few noticeable details that could use some attention in the bathroom (black mold around bathroom window panes that could easily be removed and the drywall ceiling above the shower is developing mold and could benefit from some cleaning and repainting.) Overall, we enjoyed the coziness of the cabin, the beauty of the canyon so close by. Its a quick ride into the town of Banff. It was great to have a restaurant, gift shop and coffee bar on site. Staff were helpful and friendly.”

“We were left in a lurch when we discovered the reservation we'd made at another hotel was 3X the price we were led to believe it was, so we were late in finding something else. Called Banff Park Lodge and requested connecting rooms with one king in one, two queens in the other. No problem! We were in luck. We pressed our luck and asked for quiet, top floor rooms as well since my husband is a light sleeper. They were all too happy to accommodate. Score! Our stay at Banff Park Lodge ended up being just what we needed, thereby exceeding our expectations based on previously read reviews. Liked the location, rooms were comfortable and quiet. Dated accommodations, pool a little small, pricey for what it was, absolutely horrendous service at breakfast, but the bartender was great, dinner at la Terrazza exceeded our expectations and we slept well for the duration. Ample parking as well. Skip the breakfast here unless it is included and/or you love a buffet. The service truly awful. We far preferred breakfasts we had elsewhere. I would recommend Banff Park Lodge but think it should be considerably less expensive. Not a great value overall but more than serviceable and in a good location for your stay in Banff.”

“The lodge is amazing! Such a great choice for a late summer retreat! If I had known how much I enjoy being here, I would have altered my trip and stayed longer! The hotel upgraded my room! I face the ski lift, have a jacuzzi and a wonderful fireplace! My windows have remained open, receiving this fresh mountain air! This is a must book!”

“Lovely hotel. We had stunning views out of the front balcony. The beds were so comfortable. The room was comfortable and very spacious. All the staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Don't miss the homemade granola. Coffee from the café was delicious.”

“Loved this older home! It had lots of charm and decorated in the early 1900's style. Room was on the small side but the bed was very comfortable and we did not spend much time in the room - too much to see and do. It was in a great location and everything downtown was within walking distance. Karin, the proprietor, was very helpful. Giving us tips about where to go and what to see. My husband and I are impromptu travelers. So, Karin's tips made for a memorable visit. Breakfast was provided with homemade fresh muffins that were delicious! If you like an older B&B with charm, this one is for you.”
