We loved our meal here! Reasonable prices and high end, delicious food/drinks. The chef delivers food to your table and comes around to make sure you’re enjoying your meal, which is a nice touch. Multiple vegetarian options. Almost all tables were full, make sure you make a reservation!
We had a girls night out and decided to return to Forno for a lovely dinner. This is a spot we have been to a number of times - and generally speaking, both the food quality and service have been fantastic.
Tonight the food quality was as expected - delicious, filling and flavourful! The atmosphere was warm and intimate, chefs were flipping pizza dough and you could smell the wood burning in the oven. It’s such a cool experience!
Service tonight was not as great as we have come to expect. I’m guessing they may have been short staffed due to weather being cold and snowy, however even when our sever did come around, he seemed absentminded and a little too “fake” nice that the experience wasn’t genuine. Poor guy also had some body odour that overpowered the table when he stopped by for check-ins. I recognize that sometimes people can’t control this, but I’m sharing the honest and full experience. 🤷🏻♀️
All this aside, I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s unassuming given being so close to the highway turnoff and nestled in the hotel row. Go to relax and unwind and enjoy delicious food!
Really nice vibes, attentive and friendly staff. Calamari was quite good, although a tad greasier than I’m used to but still very good. Bruschetta was really good too, the bread could be a little more toasty as it does get a little soggy from the toppings. Drinks were excellent. I would like to come back to try other things. It wasn’t the best pasta I’ve ever had, had the manicotti and the marinara is a little bland. But overall was a really nice meal and will definitely be back.
Went with my wife for valentine's day. The special menu was amazing. Great atmosphere, the place was packed and we still got food and drinks in a timely manner. And the roses in the men's room were a nice touch.
There's also wood fire pizza oven, so we have to go again to try the pizza!
Really great service and a beautiful setting. We got mussels in saffron sauce, boar meatballs, beef carpaccio, margarita pizza and the prosciutto with arugula pizza. I wish I took a picture of our desert it was a peach schnapps panna cotta. I'm not usually a dessert person but when the head chef comes over and suggests it I couldn't resist and I'm glad I didn't! This restaurant is attached to Hash a breakfast brunch restaurant I highly recommend. The 4 stars are only because of a few minor hiccups but it's understandable being a new restaurant. I look forward to going back later this week with my mom and hopefully try out a few other menu items. This restaurant supports local in a huge way and it shows throughout the whole restaurant from food to the beverages. Try the coffee and people cow Saskatoon cream liqueur.
