Though the weather was smoky/ hazy, we enjoyed getting into the lake to experience its beauty. Pretty clean water , fine sandy beach just about 2 hrs drive from Calgary. The best part about Rochon Sands was shallow depth even across the marked line ; a peace- of- mind from kiddos drowning even if out-of-sight.. The worst is the washroom and changing room - very poorly maintained, very very stinky. Overall I recommend to visit once.
A beautiful nice Provincial Park that is not very well known. The beach area in this specific area of the park is limited in size, being about less than 100m in overall length, but is still overall a nice place. The water is decently clean, and there is a clear separation between where the water is shallow and deep. The washroom facitilies however are not very clean or sanitary, being basically two glorified port-a-potties for both men and women's (there is no functioning water inside, just a hole in the ground port-a-potty for you to do your business, and a sanitizer dispenser for you to sanitize.) Still a nice place overall.
One of our favorite places. It has everything you may want. Sandy beach, nice and clean water. There is also a play area for kids and the views are priceless. Everyone should visit it atleast once.
Clean, organized, friendly and well-run. There are so many birds here; it's a great place for birding. Nice trails to walk and nice beach. Small playground. Tent camping was lovely.
Wanted to go to Boss Hill. Drove in and said no day use. Went to Rochon Sands and enjoyed the day there. Thank you for being open. Please note Provincial parks should have sign on highway 56 say buffalo Recreation area day use closed.
