Beautiful place in Alberta. Smooth roads surrounded by history.
Situated on the Red Deer River, surrounded by eroded hillsides, this campground is scenic, quiet, and spacious. The dark skies are perfect for stargazing. Footpaths going into the hills give the opportunity to explore the amazing geology of the area. Campsites backing onto the river are spectacular.
Camping in this area is great however it could improve by making a swimming hole to one side where small kids and parents could go in the water without worrying about floating down the river. Also they could have a dump site on there where you could empty your trailers. The fact they have fire wood included with the site is great. Still keep it natural where no electricity is around, only a internet tower in the close proximity would be a great. Charges for site are good considering there are other campsites that charge 31 dollars for all hook-ups.
One of our favorite off grid camp grounds. The kids love the playground and the river acess is great for a quick swim
