“The first thing you need to know is that the campground has new management this year. Tam was super friendly and helpful. They are in the process of fixing things up, but generally we found the facilities great. We were unsure of the campground based on previous reviews, but I think a lot has changed with new managers. We went in early July, and all the outhouses had hand sanitizer. The on-site dump station was also free. They were also setting up to sell a few treats, like ice cream and pop. The location is great, right by the river, with a beach and a boat launch. The water was very warm and shallow, with lots of kids playing, and people sitting with their lawn chairs in the shallows. They have non-potable water available, and there are showers (they were still officially closed when we were there due to COVID). No outside firewood is allowed, but you can buy it on site, and the price was reasonable. The campground is well treed, although depending on the site, there may not be a lot of privacy. There are some great group sites, with room for several units, and some of these are back in their own section of trees. The sites along the river are open, as would be expected. All in all a nice campground, with a reasonable 2-hour drive from Calgary.”

“I was one of those annoying campers who requested to move…not once…but twice! There wasn’t anything wrong with the sites, we just wanted to be a little more removed from the main area. I felt bad about being that person but as a result I happened to get on a first name basis with the desk staff which was a treat. Deb and Donna were both patient and had suggestions that suited specifically what my family was looking for. They went over and above and honestly it was perfect!!!!! I had teenagers with me and they loved exploring, loved the ice cream, the beach was great, pedal bikes were fun too! We watched the sunset from our campsite and could still see the fireworks if we chose not to walk down to the beach. Exploring the market on Saturday morning is always a favorite! This camping resort has a special charm to it ☺️With it being such a special place there are a lot of visitors. We need to ensure we do our part to care for it and leave it as we find it for the next campers so everyone who loves it can continue to make memories for years to come! We will definitely be back!”
