“Uptown Movers came to our rescue today. Yesterday we closed on our first home purchase. It started snowing a couple days before our closing and by yesterday we had over a foot of snow. Then yesterday our elevator broke down. The other movers we had scheduled didn’t want to move us down 4 floors and advised us to cancel. Then we found out that the elevator was leaking hydraulic fluid and will likely be out for a month or longer. Christmas is in 3 days. And I was crushed. I reached out on Facebook and someone from Uptown Movers said to call and they would make the move happen for us. I couldn’t believe that they were willing to do that for us! Not only was it 3 days before Christmas, our parking was horribly filled with snow and we were four floors up with no elevator and tiny stairwells!!! The elevator company ended us calling us last minute and telling us that they would open the elevator for our move but no people were allowed in which saved us a lot of work, but I have no doubt that they would have moved us down all of those stairs. I can not tell you how grateful I am to Uptown Movers!! Thank you guys to the moon and back. I will recommend you to everyone I know. Your guys are professional kind and more than willing to go the extra mile. I am very grateful!”

From the lovely woman that answered the phone only two days ago as I was panicking about the tree branch on my roof, to the transfer to another man who was already on a job, and from him sending another fellow over to access the damage and give us direction!!! Today only the 2nd day two young men arrive and skillfully look after the branch and take down some other danglers in the tree!!! We are looking forward to having your company back in the spring to clean up the tree, but for now we can sleep at night, bring it on wind!!! “I'd done a lot of research on insulation prior to contacting Ecolofty and knew what I wanted in order to improve the efficiency of our home energy use. Christina was very forthcoming and knowledgeable about the product and she offered a lot of detailed observations on the condition of our attic space. Needless to say we had our attic insulation increased to R50 and it was done even sooner than anticipated! Our first night we felt like we were sleeping in a giant cocoon. Our home feels so comfortable and is also extremely quiet which is calming. I would highly recommend Ecolofty. “A previous contractor installed a wood surround to our recently purchased electric fireplace and in less than a year, it twisted and knots appeared in the surround…when he was called to repair his work, he simply did not respond to calls, texts or emails. Matthew was hired by our strata to do some work which was done very well…he was further hired to do some work for a neighbour and this too was done exceptionally so we enlisted Matthews help. He removed the twisted base of our wall mounted surround without damaging the rest of the surround. He informed me that the previously used surround was knotty pine (a cheap wood, which explained why knots appeared and twisting occurred). He installed a guaranteed knot free base of high quality wood and helped me to reinstall the fireplace which had to be removed for the work to be done. He then explained what I had to do to paint the base (as I chose to paint it myself) and he returned when I made a mistake. He fixed my mistake and I finished the painting. It looks perfect. Thanks Matthew for your attention to details, your patience answering my questions throughout this project, being so open and approachable and for doing all this at a very reasonable price! I highly recommend Matthew to anyone needing carpentry work done around their home.”
