Highly Recommend The Marine Bulter!
Having recently moved to Vancouver Island, my husband and I decided to change-up our lifestyle and enjoy life more. One of our goals was to explore this beautiful region and discover all it has to offer. We decided to purchase a boat.
However, as we are “newbie” boaters, we felt it necessary to seek assistance from a professional surveyor. Someone who knows boats and the industry. We contacted Dale at The Marine Butler and found his experience and expertise to be an invaluable resource.
Not only did he help us avoid a “poor choice” on the first boat we seriously considered. Dale’s pragmatic, “no-nonsense” approach was instrumental in guiding us through the decision process on the boat we ultimately purchased. He also dedicated several hours of instruction time (at no charge), teaching us how to drive the boat.
We highly recommend The Marine Butler’s services if you are planning a boat purchase. The peace-of-mind it brings, is well worth it.
Dale made sure every need was met to expectations and more, Dale is always available and has a high customer service orientated focus. His knowledge is evident in each conversation, if you want your boat surveyed thoroughly and promptly Dale is your guy!
Mike provided a very thorough inspection and assessment of a recent sailboat boat prior to purchase. He worked closely with the owner to coordinate an on water survey and a half lift hull inspection. Mike has a very easy going and trustworthy personality, and a high level of marine knowledge. All of these traits were very helpful to bridge the gap when negotiating the final purchase price. I would highly recommend Mike and the services of the Marine Butler.
We found Dale to be extremely knowledgeable, thorough, fair and ethical. He and his son Mike make a great team.! They truly work for you as the buyer which cannot necessarily be said of all surveyors. As Dale himself says, "If I wouldn't buy it, I'm not going to recommend you buy it." However, if you choose to go ahead, it will be with eyes wide open because you will know where the problems lie and an approximate cost to fix them. These guys really know their stuff and they could save you from making a big mistake. The saying, "Buyer Beware" seems to be especially true in the world of second-hand boats. This team is thoroughly equipped to lead you through the boating-buying jungle. Your money will be well-spent and Dale is generous with his time in fielding phone calls and answering questions. In the end, we found a great boat and bought it with confidence. Thanks Dale and Mike.
My wife and I recently moved to Vancouver Island to retire with the water and mountains. We had been planning for several months to purchase a boat to enjoy time with friends and family. We have a boat load (pardon the pun) of grand children so we were particularly motivated to make sure we purchased a sea worthy vessel. Despite having a competent mechanical background I soon realized hiring a professional surveyor was the only way to go. We were very fortunate to hook up with Dale at The Marine Butler. From the first contact Dale made it clear that we could call anytime with questions and also forward listings of potential boats that he would give us his opinion. He spent hours of his time helping find the right boat for the type of boating we wanted to do. The Marine Butler does not charge for this service and I must say having a 42 year seaman to bounce things off gave us the confidence to make the right decisions. Dale surveyed two boats for us. The surveys were very thorough leaving no stones unturned. With Dale's help we purchased a great boat. Dale is a no nonsense guy, very passionate about boating and the boating industry, and I would recommend his services to anyone looking to purchase a boat.
Sincerely
Patrick and Frances
