Amica Douglas House

I worked for Amica last year as a server and can't say enough good things about the staff. From the management to nurses, reception, housekeeping and the cooks, the level of care and attention to the residents was very touching. Each interaction with a resident was seen as an opportunity to contribute to their day and that was never taken lightly. I enjoyed my time working at Amica very much and have recommended the job to friends.

I am so very Thankful for the Douglas House community. Although i am in another province i am so comfortable knowing my Mother is well cared for and loved by all of the staff there.

My parents moved into the apartments of Douglas House in 2019. They have made many friends and feel at home in the community. I am especially thankful to have them in such a welcoming place during these strange times. (Covid-19)

My mother has been with the assisted living section of Douglas House for over two years. She feels very well cared for and enjoys the atmosphere, the staff and fellow residents, and the quality of the meals. I find the staff particularly caring and dedicated. The management and staff are very professional and proactive in their communications with family. They are also accommodating with and attentive to the needs of my mother and her representatives. They have been particularly superior during this time, finding a careful balance of safety precautions and creative ways to keep residents connected with their family members. I would not hesitate to recommend the residence to others or to contemplate it for myself.

My husband's granny lives in the assisted living apartments side of this facility, and she looks happy and well cared for every time we see her. She is allowed to have family over for meals in the dining room and the food is always delicious and the staff friendly. When a loved one is no longer able to fully care for themselves, it can be difficult to make the decision to find a facility for them, but Amica at Douglas makes it a little easier with their friendly staff and clean environment, as well as options for varying levels of care.
