A very nice quiet park with Brooklyn Creek running through. A children's play center makes it a family charm. No restrooms. Dog walkers.
Nice park in Comox, in a middle of a subdivision. Lots of space. I was there in the winter. No one there. It's quite hidden. I live close by but it was my first time there. Quite wet at this time of the year!
I remember when Salish Park was a mustard field. In the early 80's, I remember them plowing down the field. They fixed the trails, added bridges and a culvert for Brooklyn creek to run through in the entrance. They seeded the field, added tiny trees and a playground. Needless to say, I spent my childhood in that park and have fond memories of the friendships I built with the neighborhood kids. I don't remember the year the pond was added, but it was enriched with lots of native plants which attracts lots of beautiful dragonflies and birds. The trees are now tall and mature. The playground equipment has been updated and it looks so different than what I experienced as a child, but like me, it has just gotten older. Salish Park has always been one of my favorite places in the Comox Valley and if you have a child, bring them there and I promise they'll leave happy.
Very beautiful secluded park, I stumbled on this place while my dog pulled me there. Serene and shaded spots by the creek. A little place of heaven. If you visit please remember that. (P/U for your dog) and trash if you can.
Small park with playground equipment and a short, treed, creekside path. Snow in mid-February 2021.
