“Thank you, Reliable Poultry, for another year of healthy livestock, despite the regulation challenges. You went over an above your usual excellent service. Our last batch of meat birds thrived, as you can see pictured below. Our current batch of turkey is on the way to the butcher shortly and looks fantastic. The second batch of turkeys are also coming along nicely, both with a surprisingly low mortality rate of - ZERO!! Excellent stock!”

“I had a cooking class while at Raven's Moon. It has a fantastic set up for anyone wanting to teach a cooking class. The owner is such a nice guy. I went there another time with my daughter, for a wine tasting. His wines are fabulous, so tasty 😋😍 I has a lot of fun anytime that I've been there, as he has a nice laid back sense of humor. So if you want to do anything out there, just go on to his website or give him a call... set up some time, you won't be sorry.”

“Amazing experience on chinook salmon egg take day! Our kids got a special hands on experience with the egg removal process. They got to assist in blocking the sun, as to not allow the eggs to spoil. The workers explained the whole process, the importance and everything as they worked. The kids left in awe, and talked for the rest of the day about the experience. Very educational, learning process for them. My daughter is now inspired by them and is now interested in working with the fish. Big thank you to the workers at the Fish Hatchery, especially the lady doing the egg removal (we never got your name!) You've made a couple of kids very happy, and taught them lessons they will never forget.”

“The service and selection are first rate. I called ahead for a small prime rib roast for Christmas for just my husband and me. When I got there, the roasts were so big. The meat cutter came out with a beautiful whole prime rib and asked how much I wanted. He cut and tied the perfect portion. I wish I had asked his name. It's great to buy locally raised grass fed beef! So worth the price.”

“I am the owner/operator of the pet boarding facility on the Courtenay/Melville boundary. Though I am equidistant from several clinics, Dr. Tom, his front office, as well as other the DVM staff at Country Animal Hospital are always my first and only call when I need anything medically related or relevant for either my dogs personally, or guests. From prescriptions, consultations, appointments, or just advice which I often ask when trying to determine the best course of action to take with a guest who I am unsure about the best way to proceed, no matter how big or small, they always have time for me. They provide education, are professional, prompt and incredibly caring. I would highly recommend this animal hospital based on my extensive experience both as a kennel operator as well as a “dog dad” who loves his own, as well as all dogs in care, beyond measure.”

“Bring back the fried chicken and Mojo's! 😭 Joking aside (or not...) the employee there was very friendly and approachable. Ordered a slushy as my hopes for Mojo's got crushed. To be fair that was like 20 years ago when I was last there for Mojo's 😅”

“The service was great, we were seated quickly. The portions were good and the price was really decent. I had the pad thai and it was fantastic. It's a small operation so don't expect fast food but expect good homemade thai!”

“My wife and I had dinner here for our first wedding anniversary last night, and we couldn't of picked a better place. We both did the "Chefs Tasting" along with a wine pairing, and not only was everything exceptional, but the service was amazing, and very personable. I would highly recommend coming here to anyone!”

“New location for the win! Twice as many snacks, convenient location, gorgeous new space. Delicious homemade traditional kimchi. I'm not too adventurous when it comes to food, so it's always a bit intimidating to try new stuff, but everything I've had here so far has been delicious, and their hot food station has a bunch of quick meals that have not disappointed me yet. But what surprised me the most is how much I loved the vegan kimchi (I'm a big meat eater). Perfectly fermented, crunchy and just SO FLAVOURFUL... Very worth trying. So glad I gave it a try 😁 Other than that, the snack aisle is definitely intriguing - this is as close as this town has gotten to a proper snack bodega - I tried Hi-Chew flavours that I have never seen anywhere else before and got some super unique sodas. They even carry Mexico-made sodas (i.e. with cane sugar vs. the corn-based junk that we get in US/Canada). Prices are very reasonable - a little too low if anything imo 😅 Every time I leave this place I do so with a full stomach and a giant grin”

“Very nice to deal with. They even gave a me a call to see if we got everything set up okay as we were away when they delivered. Also delivered after the snow storm and had to lug all the water up our uncleared snowy driveway. Thank you so much!!!😊”

“Update: Thanks for the correction! I didn't know it was not suppose to be cinnamon, so I updated my score 5/5 ⭐ Come if you want pastries that doesn't cut any corners. I ordered a apple pecan pastry $5, croissant $3.50, and cinnamon knot $3. The apple pecan packed a lot of flavor and has great texture. You can tell they put extra attention in crafting this wonderful masterpiece. The croissant was flaky, light and buttery. It tasted like the ones I had in France. The cinnamon knot was my least favorite but it was okay. I believe it was cinnamon but honestly I didn't really look at the sign. The service was friendly and professional. The location is in a industrial area tucked around the side. I drove by the first time but spotted their lawn signage. It's not much to look at from the outside or inside. I do wish they had a little more choices. I don't mind paying more for better quality food but it's still a tad pricier than I would like to pay. That's why it prevented me from giving it 5 stars. My recommendation is grab a coffee or tea, pick up a few pastries and head over to a park to enjoy them.”

“Been shopping here for quite a while. Great owner and management team. There is always a friendly smiling assortment of people sitting around enjoying their meals. This is my go to breakfast place. Good prices, and great service. They remember my order, and bring my food to my table. They also make their onion rings fresh for each order which is rare in this valley. I would highly recommend eating here”

“We stopped in for a late lunch November 2023. Place is small and in a grouping of other businesses. The menu has lots of choice besides sushi. Their menus is also posted online. Started with tea, which was nice. I had the assorted tempura with prawns and vegetables with side of miso soup and my hubby had Tropical teriyaki bowl which included miso soup to start. Both were very good! Small cafe restaurant with not too many tables, and we saw some people arriving to do take out. Overall atmosphere was pleasant as was our server. We would definitely go back again.”

“It's slightly different with the new owners, no self serve hit sauce it is .35c per container after the 1st one. There is a woman who works here and he memory is impressive (like the man at George's!) I had a large order for 11 people and she remembered it all in one go. Same food, same location added bonus with menu change is they have crunch wraps!! So good!!”
