A great selection of products for a q smallish store!
I have camped here in the past and have had a better experience than this past time. For the price (about $61 with tax for a campsite a night) it was a bit lack lustre. We were in a very small site that seemed to be half the size of the other sites but the same price. We were so close to our neighbours it was a bit much. Also there are only two bathrooms for all (16?)sites. There is one shower in one of the bathroom stalls, and if someone is taking a shower, it means there is only one bathroom for about 75 campers. They have a bathroom in their restaurant above the store but you are not allowed to use it, even as a camper of the site attached. This is not super clear and I was rudely told I couldn’t use it by staff of the restaurant. Although I understand Hornby is in a drought right now, there just aren’t enough facilities for the amount of campers they have, and since there are practically 0 public bathrooms on Hornby, it’s expected that the place your camping could provide adequate amounts. It seems they have added more campsites, upped the price and not upgraded any of the service. The staff at the store are really really kind and helpful, and the pizza is great. I don’t think our small site should be priced the same as the full sized sites.
A great lil market at the marina. Didn’t camp there but friends spoke highly of it. Looks like they are running off Wind Turbine power now ( super cool and sustainability wow factor!). The site has recently been upgraded and a restaurant is on the top floor. Pretty cool lil place to come visit. Definitely come walk the coastline as it has some cool sandstone formations along the waterline.
We ordered pizza, by default, because literally, ever other place was closed. Got to admit I was unsure because it’s a general store at the marina. But wow, so delicious! Thin crust, fresh, hot, with lots of toppings. Highly recommend!!
