My partner and I visited this winery during our visit to Victoria. It was a beautiful place with amazing wines. I ended up having some bottles shipped home! The owner was so friendly and followed up with me to update me on the shipment. This place was worth the visit.
We had a delightful experience visiting Rocky Creek Winery. Larry and Barb were gracious hosts! They treated us like family, and we enjoyed the storytelling aspect of learning about the wine. Would definitely recommend!
What a gem this turned out to be. We showed up on the weekend after visiting other wineries in the area. The host was very friendly, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their wines. We were supposed to be there a half hour but stayed almost 90 minutes as it wasn't busy in the tasting room and the discussion enjoyable. We really enjoyed their Sirius Red and Robin's Rose so bought some to take home. Their whites are nice as well but we're "redders". This is a really relaxing but beautiful location and one we'll return to.
I love Rocky Creek, I have been many times and have brought lots of friends and family. I appreciate the experience they give with the stories they tell and if I had one complaint it would be that the tasting experience (the best bang for the buck in my opinion as you get to taste everything for $5) goes on too long now. It is a 45 minute ordeal with too much back story and talking about the grapes and the process and on and on and on... A better blend of tasting and story needs to be found. Other than that great wines, nice unpretentious atmosphere and overall enjoyable experience.
Small winery but worth the trip. Entertaining tasting discussion. Good estate wines.
