Alpen Motel

We have been camping and decided a night of warm was worth the spend. Spotless. Quiet. Clean. No, it’s not the Ritz but if you like simple and walking distance to your necessities, this is it. Great wifi. Would stay again!

This was a last minute choice on our road trip. Banff was too expensive. Golden was too expensive. This motel was great, the new owners were great as well. We got into radium at 10:30 and the gentleman in the front office was extremely kind. When we got into our room our air conditioner wasn’t working, we had called the front office, it was almost 11pm by this time, and the gentleman had sent one of his sons to come take a look at it, when he wasn’t able to figure it out his dad came from the office to look at it and when he couldn’t get it to work, he was extremely kind and apologetic and had another room ready for us. I was truly not expecting the experience that I got!! It was great!!

Me and my sister were scrambling for a room last minute on a tight budget, luckily we found this place and im happy we did.
The room was very clean, the towels and linens smelled fresh and were comfy, the shower was amazing and the bed was comfortable and we had a good rest. On top of it all the staff at the front desk were so polite and welcoming to us very tired travellers.

Thank you so much and we will definitely be back when passing through again!

Here you are, scouring google for a last minute place to stay in a town you had no intention on staying in… Undoubtedly, you’re looking for a place that is a great value, low cost, and for gosh sakes- CLEAN!
If I am guessing correctly- you’ve probably already skimmed over this hotel amongst the sea of other listings in the area because there’s absolutely NO WAY you would ever stay in a 2-star roadside MOtel last minute…

Just so you know- I was recently this person I just described. I also have absolutely NEVER been so completely wrong about the negative assumptions I had about a place to stay.

We made the reservation online through Expedia around 10pm, and though we had to check in with the office at the sister hotel across the street, our room was ready immediately-

and when I say immaculate-

I mean that I’ve NEVER been in a hotel room of any rating or review where so much attention to cleanliness was given! Absolutely every crevice and every surface was spotless and dusted, the fridge was already chilled, and ALL the linens were freshly cleaned and placed (even the comforter).

As long as you can get over the fact that the hotel IS a bit dated, you will quickly discover that you can rest well and have a nice shower with the strongest water pressure I’ve ever experienced in a hotel.

SO— for those of you looking for a last minute place- you should take this as your sign to stay 😎.

We stayed here a few years back for our anniversary & had a great time, treated us like family & even loved our little dog. We liked it so much we are returning this year for our 20th. anniversary. Looking forward to it!!!
