“Be aware once you pass Halfmoon beach, a windstorm blew down a large section of the forest over the trail. This will slow you down considerably as you must now bushwhack and climb through many fallen tree trunks to continue to the lake. This hike is still doable in a day under perfect conditions. But it’s much better to play it safe and bring the supplies you need for a multi day excursion.”

“It's at the 10km down East Canyon Trail. Turn left when you see the MCD orange marker and the pink ribbon with black dots. There's an outhouse there with a tarp over the door. Plenty of obvious campsites to choose from, no one there. Total solitude.”
