Remote wild. Snow summer. Didint meet one person in 3 days - and that on a weekend in July. Beautiful weather. Follow the cut logs if in doubt (not the white hare).

Some friends and I, as part of the Watertown Triple Crown, hiked the Akamina Ridge and it was perfectly challenging, and very beautiful! Getting to walk on the top if the ridges was something I've never done before, and the view was breathtaking! I absolutely always love visiting Forum lake as well. Wall lake is beautiful, but the hike to/from is kind of boring. Not much to see and very very easy.

This hike starts in Waterton Park but crosses the BC border into Kishinena provincial park. It's a 22ish km loop which can be done either way. I opted to start at Wall Lake - it's basically uphill for the first half, through alpine Meadows and then across the pass. It will most likely be windy! There will be a bit of snowpack up there but it won't affect your hike. Take a lot of water. The views are amazing, you cross across the top of wall Lake. There is a scramble on the way down if you start at wall Lake, or on the way up of you start at forum Lake. I'd recommend a walking stick if your knees bother you at all while hiking as the terrain is loose across the pass and rocky everywhere else.
